Senior Manager, Trade Marketing (Sydney Office)

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND LEARN?

  • Formulate and execute marketing strategies and programmes for Trade, MICE and Cruise sectors 

  • Manage and maintain relationships with tourism industry stakeholders, including trade partners, airlines, hotels, travel agents and MICE organisers 

  • Implement trade programs including tactical co-op, trade familiarisation trips, webinars, training, and other trade-related events and activities

  • Monitor results of programmes and report their contribution to the overall KPI targets

  • Manage the Trade & MICE budgets and ensure efficient allocation and utilisation of the budget to maximize ROI with full compliance in their administration

  • Plan and conduct market visits (including NZ) to key trade partners to enhance their level of support within agreed programmes

  • Undertake new and creative initiatives to strengthen Hong Kong’s tourism profile among the trade in the AU, NZ, South Pacific region

  • Plan an overall, annual familiarisation programme (including MICE and Cruise)

  • Gather and analyse market intelligence of tourism industry and competition in the region to inform strategic decisions and optimise trade marketing efforts

  • Collaborate with the local PR/consumer/ digital marketing team and relevant departments in Head Office (“HO”) in Hong Kong

  • Ensure regular and appropriate communications to the MICE sector to update on relevant new developments and opportunities

  • Follow up and action leads and bids, & submit requests for site inspections/quotes to MEHK (HO) for action

  • Coordinate with MEHK (HO) the annual AIME trade show, and ensure a smooth, efficient and productive outcomes for trade participants

  • Maintain Trade and MICE databases for market intelligence, statistics, activity or reference

  • Provide guidance, support, and coaching to team. 
     

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • University degree holder major in Marketing or related discipline 

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the travel industry, with a minimum of 5 years in a management role is preferred

  • In-depth understanding of Australian & New Zealand travel industry and consumer travel behaviours 

  • Knowledge of Hong Kong and its culture would be advantageous

  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills 

  • Demonstrated analytical and creative thinking abilities

  • Good communication skills both written and verbal. Able to communicate to a wide variety of people from a diversity of background and culture. 

  • Willing to travel interstate and overseas for business reasons.

  • Ability to take on management of projects from start to finish. 

  • A flexible, outgoing, and motivated individual

 

LOCATION:

  • The position is located in our Sydney Office.
  • We do not offer moving allowances from other cities.
