As part of Hong Kong’s intangible cultural heritage, the iconic Pok Fu Lam Village Fire Dragon Dance, held in celebration of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, will feature a fire dragon made of straw and bamboo sticks parading through the village. The performance includes rituals like ‘the dragon leaving its cave’, with the participation of around 120 athletic villagers and volunteers, all aiming to pray for well-being and peace.
