Located in the historic Lei Yue Mun Fort in Shau Kei Wan, this museum chronicles Hong Kong’s military efforts over the centuries.
The Hong Kong Museum of the War of Resistance and Coastal Defence was converted from the Hong Kong Museum of Coastal Defence in September 2024. It focuses on the history of the War of Resistance and changes in coastal defence and military affairs. A permanent exhibition showcases Hong Kong's struggle against invasion, its role in coastal defence and military changes from the Tang dynasty to Hong Kong’s return to China in 1997.
The museum is located at Lyemun Pass, a strategic defence location since ancient times, and features a historical trail with 24 checkpoints that document significant events at the fort, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in military and historical ambience as well as the natural scenery of the site.
