  • "The second coolest street in the world"
Built in 1844, Hollywood Road is one of the oldest paved roads in Hong Kong. Back in the day, the road was much closer to the waterfront, making it a prime trading location for sailors and merchants selling Chinese antiques. Frequented by both locals and visitors, this beloved destination was crowned the second coolest street in the world by Time Out for its rich history yet ever-evolving character.

Today, this 1 km stretch between Central and Sheung Wan is home to a plethora of art galleries, trendy cafes and restaurants, chic bars and clubs, iconic heritage sites and antique stores. Among the most famous landmarks dotting this historical thoroughfare are the Man Mo Temple and a vibrant art and culture hub called Tai Kwun – both of these sites have their origins traced back to the 19th century. Inbetween, you can ride the Central Mid-Levels Escalator, the world’s longest outdoor covered escalator system.

As you stroll along this stylish street, be sure not to miss the eye-catching murals in various sections of the road, too.
