Tai Ping Shan Street in Sheung Wan is a quiet yet culturally lively neighbourhood that has welcomed an influx of new stores, art galleries and cafes. This transformation has attracted a young and trendy crowd, drawing in locals seeking leisure and unique experiences. Exploring the area is akin to a treasure hunt, where you can uncover hidden gems such as the Chillax Place art studio, the Sean Gallery ceramics store, the Moroccan-style crystal shop Nelles Gemmes, the cosy Soul Fresh cafe serving bánh mì, the craft beer haven Craftissimo and the Sbakery by Mama Soo, known for its handmade New York-style cheesecake.

The 300-metre-long street is also home to several ancient temples, most notably the vermilion-coloured Kwong Fook I Tsz, filled with incense spirals. Built in 1856, this temple not only served as a place for ancestor worship but also provided solace for the ailing Chinese community. Presently, the temples lining Tai Ping Shan Street, including the Kwun Yum Temple and Fook Tak Palace, retain their distinct charm and historical significance.
