General Manager, MICE & Cruise

A key pillar of this vision is the resurgence and expansion of our MICE and Cruise sectors. These high-value segments are pivotal drivers of economic growth, job creation, and international cooperation, drawing business travelers, leisure seekers, and industry leaders from across the globe. By formulating and implementing cutting-edge business strategies and reinforcing strategic alliances with industry stakeholders, we aim to establish Hong Kong as the unrivaled regional hub for both MICE and Cruise tourism.

We are looking for an exceptional General Manager to spearhead this ambitious initiative and join our Senior Leadership Team. This unique opportunity allows you to contribute in shaping the future of Hong Kong tourism, leading the development and execution of impactful strategies that will cement our city’s status as a world-leading MICE and Cruise destination.

Major Accountabilities:

  • Formulate and develop robust business strategies to position Hong Kong as the World’s Meeting Place and the Regional Cruise Hub.
  • Lead, guide, and direct talented teams at both Head Office and Worldwide Offices to execute effective business development initiatives and integrated marketing programs that will captivate global audiences and cement Hong Kong as the premier MICE and cruise destination.
  • Serve as the brand ambassador for MICE and Cruise, coordinating with the overall brand guardian to ensure consistent delivery of brand image and elevate Hong Kong’s profile on the world stage.
  • Cultivate and nurture strong partnerships with industry stakeholders and decision-makers in MICE and Cruise tourism.
  • Deliver bespoke services to MICE organizers and cruise companies, to unlock new opportunities and secure major conferences and exhibitions and attract long-term ship deployments.
  • Identify market trends and monitor industry developments, providing insights and recommendations to governing bodies on MICE and Cruise development.

Job Requirements:

  • A seasoned business leader with a minimum of 15 years of experience in tourism, preferably in MICE and Cruise, including at least 8 years in a senior managerial role.
  • Solid experience in B2B and B2C marketing, complemented by established industry connections, as well as comprehensive understanding of the MICE and Cruise sectors and the broader economic and professional developments shaping the region.
  • Proven ability to formulate short and long-term business and marketing strategies.
  • Excellent project management and people management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Highly motivated, enthusiastic, and passionate about promoting Hong Kong as a premier MICE destination and the regional cruise hub in Asia Pacific.
