HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND LEARN?

  • Drive MICE visitor arrivals to Hong Kong by developing and growing the conventions segment worldwide, and reinforce Hong Kong as the preferred destination for these events.

  • Establish and foster strong relationship with travel industry partners and major stakeholders through strategic partnership programmes, overseas MICE trade shows and study missions.

  • Supervise WWOs to ensure that marketing activities are executed effectively and achieve the desired results.

  • Plan and develop bids for major or high profile association and B2B conventions from key markets. Leverage on government's funding support and value-added offers from MEHK to maximise Hong Kong's chance of winning.

  • Strategic local outreaching to industry associations and professional entities to identify leads and drive the bidding process to win.

  • Assist the Director, Business Development to translate the long-term strategic plans and business plans to actionable items to ensure that the pre-set BPIs can be achieved.

  • Undertake any other duties/special assignments as directed by the Director, Business Development, MEHK.

 

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • A minimum Bachelor’s degree from a recognised institution, preferably in Business Administration, Marketing, Tourism, Hotel or Hospitality. 

  • Over 8 years of relevant work experience in the travel, servicing or marketing industry, or National Tourist Office, or Convention & Visitor Bureau, of which at least 3 years in a managerial position.  

  • Proven experience in handling business development for conventions/MICE events is preferred.

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills to foster partnership with key players such as travel trades, professional and trade associations, B2B conference organisers. 

  • High proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese. Fluency in Putonghua is also beneficial.

  • Sound knowledge in marketing planning, project management and budget control.  

  • Strong communication, presentation, account management and sales management skills.

  • Excellent Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) skills. 

  • Good organisation skill, attention to details, willing to work overtime, and can work under pressure.

  • Sensitive to public affairs and protocol.

  • Mature and able to work independently.

  • Outgoing and sociable. 

  • Willing to travel occasionally.
