HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND LEARN? 

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Regional Director to promote Hong Kong as a preferred tourism destination.  In this role, you will oversee business development, marketing, and public relations initiatives in the Mainland China market.  Reporting directly to the Deputy Executive Director at our Hong Kong Head Office, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that all activities are effective and aligned with our business objectives.

As the Regional Director, you will serve as a vital bridge between our HO and local teams. Your business insights will help HO understand the unique tourism landscape, circumstances, and needs of the Mainland China market, while also guiding local teams to align with our global perspectives and imperatives.

In this role, you will lead our offices in Mainland China to drive desired results and motivate the team.

Below are the major responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the overall strategy for Mainland China.  Lead and review the implementation of marketing, public relations, trade and MICE & Cruise initiatives and programmes to achieve established business objectives, key performance indicators and optimal results.
  • Identify, establish and nurture strategic partnerships with different stakeholders, including government bodies, media organisations, online platforms, airlines and travel trade industry.
  • Foster long-terms, effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to reinforce the tourism of Hong Kong and support sustainable growth of visitor arrivals.
  • Keep abreast of the latest market developments, provide continuous and timely feedback on the business and operational environment, industry trends, and competitive activities to senior management at HO for strategic planning.
  • Cultivate a high-performance team by embodying HKTB’s culture and aligning team efforts with our Mission and Values.
  • Effectively manage all business activities and staff within in the Mainland China offices, ensuring alignment with business objectives and compliance with legal and policy requirements.
  • Lead and manage ad hoc projects assigned by the supervisor.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • University degree holder preferably in Travel/Tourism, Marketing or related discipline.
  • At least 15 years’ proven tourism industry experience, of which at least 5 years in senior management level, preferably gained from Mainland China.
  • Sound understanding of consumer and trade media in Mainland China; knowledge of Hong Kong destination would be an added advantage.
  • Extensive and comprehensive knowledge, along with senior-level experience in integrated marketing, including advertising, public relations, promotions, business development, research, and product development. Proficiency in online marketing skills and experience is essential.
  • Proven ability to foster and maintain excellent relationships with external commercial partners.
  • Strategy with strong analytical, strategic and results-oriented with a strong commercial sense.
  • Good planning, organisation and implementation skills.
  • Strong people management skills, with the ability to take a proactive leadership role and offer innovative, visionary strategies to enhance tourism to Hong Kong.
  • Proficient in both written and spoken English and Mandarin.
  • Willing to travel.

LOCATION:

  • This position is located in our Beijing office.
  • We do not offer moving allowances from other cities.
