Senior Manager, Event Management (Culinary and Festival)

Location: Hong Kong

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND LEARN?

  • Responsible for ideating and curating innovative event concepts and programs for mega events of Hong Kong Wine and Dine Festival and Chinese New Year Parade, showcasing Hong Kong’s unique strengths to visitors
  • Accountable for the end-to-end successful delivery of the events from conceptualisation to materialisation and implementation
  • Prepare and manage event budge and compile monthly records of budget commitments, expenditure and income in accordance with the approved budget
  • Identify new business partnerships which contribute to the planning of event components as well as art tech, local and overseas performing show for festive performance at Chinese New Year Celebrations
  • Develop sponsorship package and solicit sponsors and official suppliers within commercial sectors; drive and generate revenue through sales of sponsorship and event programmes
  • Formulate service contracts/ legal agreements / insurance with event management companies/ contractors/ trade partners & stakeholders in the best interest of HKTB
  • Recommend event promotion plan and work with cross functional team to meet the goals and objectives of each event
  • Design manpower resources plan and ensure strict adherence to the work schedule and proper delivery and execution of each event
  • Work closely with various government departments, public entities, venue providers for compliance of rules and regulations and timely coordination

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • University graduate preferably in event management / marketing or related disciplines
  • At least 10 years’ experience in event management or fair organizer is preferred, from project conceptualisation to materialisation and implementation of large-scale outdoor events, including handling marketing communication materials and web pages production
  • Proven track records of managing promotional campaign and partnership products with local restaurant trade, from line-up of participants to implementation of logistics.
  • Resourceful connections with events-related partners and service vendors such as event organisers / production companies / restaurant trade associations and contractors, etc.
  • Highly creative and detail-oriented, able to understand the market needs for tourism-related product/event development and think strategically while also being hands-on in the execution of projects
  • Strong commercial sense to come up with effective marketing and promotional plans to optimise exposures for corporate sponsors, proven record to grow and maintain sponsorship database for event sponsor is preferred
  • Proactive in solving / preventing problems with analytical and creative thinking, able to cope with unexpected changes, handle multiple tasks with strong sense of priority
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, able to navigate complex and dynamic environments and achieve win-win outcomes.
  • Willing to work longer hours during event seasons and able to work under pressure
  • Excellent proficiency in written and oral English and Chinese
