Senior Manager, Event Management (Light Show & Festivals)

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND LEARN?

  • Develop creative and innovative event core programs to better engage consumers by appealing elements riding on the latest trends, e.g. artistic presentation, innovative technology, light art / digital art, etc.
  • Plan, organize, execute and accountable for the end-to-end successful delivery of HKTB annual events in support to HKTB worldwide marketing campaigns.
  • Formulate campaign strategy, curate program and connect with a wide array of stakeholders to form partnership and create synergy in driving strategic focuses.
  • Plan, manage and oversee the engagement works with government bureau / departments, District Council members, strategic partners for soliciting their support / approval for staging HKTB events.
  • Initiate overall event participation plan and work with Worldwide Offices, cross functional teams, strategic partners to effect visitor satisfaction and generate word-of-mouth recommendations for sustaining each HKTB events.
  • Develop sponsorship package and solicit sponsors and official suppliers from the commercial sector.
  • Manage, oversee the risks as associated with each event and ensure the legal requirements as stipulated in relevant laws / guidelines / industry practices are properly met.
     

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • University degree holder with major studies in Marketing / Public Relations / Journalism or relevant disciplines.
  • A minimum of 10 years solid experience with 5 years at supervisory level for corporate communications, event marketing, event management, tourism project promotion planning and destination marketing is preferred.
  • Experience in a sizeable event organizer is advantageous.
  • Proven successful history of organizing large scale international mass participation event from ideating, planning, budgeting, development and successful implementation.
  • Solid and sound experience of liaison with stakeholders or government departments for planning and carrying out different initiatives at the event organizer level to achieve the event / marketing strategy is an advantage.
  • Good understanding of tourist’s insights & behaviors, and tourism industry to develop the event strategy to promote Hong Kong as a destination and Event Capital of Asia.
  • Good understanding of market practice in the use of new technology for development of international standard public show, preferably with exposure of creativity and innovative technology experience, e.g. fireworks display and multimedia show strategy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English and Chinese for formal business communications and documents. Capable of delivering a large number of official documents in a short lead time in high quality.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, problem solving and project management skills with demonstrated ability to multi-task and handle crisis under tremendous pressure and time constraint, open-minded, persuade others to achieve the company’s goal and able to take responsibility and share success.
