From its humble origins as a fishing village, Hong Kong has grown into a mighty modern metropolis, but fishing is still a way of life for some in this multicultural city. In Ap Lei Chau & Lamma Island, where traditional fishing culture thrives, locals are happy to share a peek into their daily lives, ancient customs, and favourite foods!
Itinerary
Stroll through the main streets of Ap Lei Chau and ride a boat to explore the Aberdeen Typhoon Shelter, then visit Lamma Fisherfolk’s Village to learn about local fisherfolk culture and take a look at Hong Kong’s only circular, deep-sea fish cage. Lastly, enjoy a traditional fisherman’s meal – the 'Nine Big Feast'.
