On New Year’s Eve, the night sky over Victoria Harbour will transform into a stunning canvas of light and shadow, showcasing a breathtaking firework musical. This 12-minute extravaganza will showcase various forms of nature through spectacular fireworks effects, embodying the theme of ‘The Symphony of Happiness’ and conveying wishes for prosperity. The fireworks display will dazzle with four striking effects, including a first-ever feature for Hong Kong, illuminating the skyline of Victoria Harbour. Firework musical: Midnight – 0:12am
Various vantage points will be available along Victoria Harbour, many fitted with audio systems to broadcast soundtracks of the firework musical. Together with your family and friends, delight in the splendid fireworks and captivating melodies. Here are a few suggested vantage spots where you can fully enjoy the show — choose your favourite!
Hong Kong Island
- Central Waterfront (adjacent to Tamar Park)
- MTR Admiralty Station, Exit A. Turn right and take the covered walkway to Tamar Park and continue walking until you reach the Central Waterfront. It’s about a 10-minute walk.
- Golden Bauhinia Square, Wan Chai
- MTR Station Exhibition Centre Station, Exit B2. Follow the signs to Golden Bauhinia Square via the covered walkway. It’s about a seven-minute walk.
- MTR Wan Chai Station, Exit A5. Follow the signs to Golden Bauhinia Square via the covered walkway. It’s about a 15-minute walk.
- Take ferry from Tsim Sha Tsui Ferry Pier and then walk for 5 minutes.
- Wan Chai Temporary Promenade (adjacent to HarbourChill)
- MTR Exhibition Centre Station, Exit A2 and walk for five minutes.
- Take ferry from Tsim Sha Tsui Ferry Pier and then walk for one minute.
- East Coast Park Precinct, North Point
- MTR Fortress Hill Station, Exit A. Walk along Oil Street and Electric Road, and then go towards the end of Watson Road. It’s about a seven-minute walk.
Kowloon
- Hong Kong Cultural Centre, Tsim Sha Tsui
- MTR East Tsim Sha Tsui Station, Exit L6 or J3; or MTR Tsim Sha Tsui Station, Exit E, and follow the signs to Hong Kong Cultural Centre.
- Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade (adjacent to Kowloon Shangri-La)
- MTR East Tsim Sha Tsui Station, Exit P1. Walk across Salisbury Road to the Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade. It’s about a 15-minute walk.
- Avenue of Stars, Tsim Sha Tsui
- MTR East Tsim Sha Tsui Station, Exit J and walk for 10 minutes.
- Take the ferry from Central or Wan Chai Ferry Pier to Tsim Sha Tsui. Then, walk along Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade.
- West Kowloon Cultural District
- MTR Kowloon, Exit C1 or D1. Follow the signs through ELEMENTS to the Artist Square Bridge and cross the footbridge. It’s about a 10- to 15-minute walk.
- MTR Kowloon, Exit E4 or E5. Walk along Nga Cheung Road to Museum Drive. It’s about a 10- to 15-minute walk.
- MTR Austin Station, Exit B4 or B5. Walk through ELEMENTS. It’s about a 15- to 20-minute walk.
Remarks:
Extensive road closures will be implemented from 6pm on the day of the event. Spectators are advised to utilise public transport and arrive at the designated locations early. Details of the special traffic and transport arrangements are available on the Transport Department’s website or through the mobile application ‘HKeMobility’.
Theme of firework musical ‘The Symphony of Happiness’
The firework musical extravaganza themed ‘The Symphony of Happiness’ was designed by Liu Lin, Fireworks Project’s Chief and Director of Fireworks Operation of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. Drawing inspiration from the elements of nature, it highlights our bond with the environment while expressing themes of passion, joy, resilience and hope.
