You can find some of the best and most authentic noodle dishes from around the world right here in Hong Kong. We’re highlighting seven must-visit restaurants, all recognised by the Quality Tourism Services (QTS) Scheme to keep you coming back for another delicious noodle encounter.

Fu-Un-Maru Ramen

Fu-Un-Maru Ramen

If you’re a fan of tsukemen (dipping noodles), you’ve probably heard of this renowned Japanese brand. While the noodles are the star of the show, the soul of any tsukemen dish lies in its broth. Simmered for 10 hours, Fu-Un-Maru Ramen’s signature Hiroshima-style tonkotsu and gyokai broth blends the richness of pork bone with the umami of seafood. What sets it apart is that the broth is served in a heated stone bowl, keeping every mouthful of noodles warm until your very last bite.

The house-made thick noodles are perfectly chewy and designed to soak up every drop of the flavourful broth. A must-try is the stone bowl rich tonkotsu and gyokai tsukemen with flavoured soft-boiled egg, where even the sides – like the molten-yolk egg and perfectly charred thick-cut pork belly – are just as impressive.

Jiang Nan by Crystal Jade

Jiang Nan by Crystal Jade

For freshly hand-pulled Lanzhou-style noodles, Jiang Nan by Crystal Jade is the perfect spot. The restaurant features an open noodle bar where you can watch the noodle master's crafty performance before indulging in a steaming hot bowl of noodles. A standout dish is the signature dan dan noodles, featuring a rich broth simmered for over eight hours with Jinhua ham, pork bones, and fresh chicken served with thick sesame-peanut sauce, aromatic chilli oil, and Zhenjiang vinegar, creating a bold and unforgettable flavour. Another must-try is the braised abalone dry noodles, where each slice of hand-pulled noodles is coated in the fragrant abalone sauce, paired with tender, slow-braised abalone.

Beyond noodles, the menu offers a mix of classic and modern Jiangnan dishes, from steamed chicken with chilli oil, eggplant with sea urchin sauce to black truffle mushroom fried rice and even foie gras siu mai, giving traditional flavours a contemporary twist.

Kau Kiu Noodles

Kau Kiu Noodles

Located in Yuen Long, Kau Kiu Noodles is full of surprises. Despite its name hinting at traditional Yunnan-style rice noodles – it’s all about cart noodles! When the shop first opened over 20 years ago, it did specialise in Yunnan rice noodles, but due to fierce competition in the area, it pivoted to cart noodles and quickly became a neighbourhood favourite. Given a relatively local cuisine, don’t underestimate the broth of such a cart noodle shop – here, it’s simmered daily for six hours using pork shank bones, fresh chicken, dried flounder and shrimp, resulting in a clear yet intensely flavourful soup.

The biggest twist is its signature chicken dishes with all flavours – from salted chicken and soy sauce chicken to spicy Thai chicken. Using traditional Hakka cooking techniques, whole fresh chickens are marinated and steamed to lock in juices, making each bite tender and flavourful. Pair it with noodles or clay pot rice, and you’re in for a comforting meal.

KiKi Noodle Bar

KiKi Noodle Bar

This Taiwanese noodle brand backed by international star Shu Qi is a hot favourite. They focus on naturally air-dried handmade noodles that are firm, chewy and never get soggy. They provide a variety of broths, from beef and chicken to herbal and vegetarian options. KiKi Noodle Bar is having its motto put into practice: to serve a simple bowl of happiness to every customer around the world. Top recommendations in this restaurant include the crab roe oil dry noodles, the sesame chicken cold noodles, created by Michelin two-star chef Mitsuru Konishi and the braised beef noodles, made with a broth slow-cooked for 48 hours.

Beyond noodles, they also offer a lineup of Taiwanese-inspired drinks, such as purple tam grass jelly tea latte and peach oolong with taro ball topping, making it a spot where you can sip and savour the best of Taiwan.

Taiwan Kitchen

Every Taiwan Kitchen branch proudly displays the phrase ‘Happiness is a Flavour’ on its walls, alongside the comforting aroma of slow-simmered beef broth – transporting you straight to the streets and alleys of Taiwan. The signature Taiwanese beef noodles are made using ingredients mostly sourced from Taiwan, with the soup base crafted from slow-cooked beef bones for a deep, rich taste. The noodles themselves are made fresh daily in Hong Kong using premium Taiwanese flour, with both thick and thin options available.

Besides noodles, they serve all-time Taiwanese favourites like deep-fried diced chicken, spiced pork chops and bubble tea – plus authentic stir-fried dishes rarely found outside Taiwan, making it a must-visit for anyone craving a true taste of the ‘treasure island’.

The Spaghetti House Restaurants Ltd

For many Hongkongers, The Spaghetti House is pure nostalgia – what started as childhood visits with parents has now become a go-to spot for dining with their own kids. The flavours have remained consistently satisfying over the years, making it a timeless favourite. Their signature baked lasagna is a must-order, staying true to a traditional Italian recipe while continuously refining the taste. Everything is made fresh to order, ensuring a perfect classic gourmet experience.

Other highlights include the BBQ glazed Danish baby back ribs, paired with caramelised grilled pineapple, and the cheese fondue as a winter special, made with a blend of four premium cheeses, creating a rich and indulgent experience.

Yu Mai

Yu Mai

For those who love fish or prefer a healthier diet, Yu Mai has been a game-changer. Their whole-fish rice noodles are not just delicious but also packed with nutrients, making them a favourite among health-conscious diners. The broth is the star here – made from fresh golden threadfin bream, whiting, pork bones, and other premium ingredients, slow-simmered to a milky-white, collagen-rich perfection with no MSG added. Each spoonful is a burst of fresh seafood essence, paired with smooth and chewy rice noodles. The whole-fish toppings make for an impressive visual and an even better dining experience.

Apart from their famous fish noodles, other must-tries include braised pork cartilage with vegetable rice and soak cooked rice with pickled cabbage fish soup, alongside nourishing drinks like date and longan tea or ginger tea – a meal that’s as good for your taste buds as it is for your well-being.
